What is your favorite character from Spirit Blood?

I thought I'd just throw this out there for fun- tell us your favorite character from Spirit Blood: Genesis of War, and why it is your favorite.

Perhaps we'll take into consideration your comments when deciding whether or not to kill that person off. (haha!) Just kidding, but life is never certain, so it's always a possibility that your favorite character could be killed off in our next book, so be sure to get their vote in now for survival. :-D

To answer this for myself (this is Ashley by the way), my favorite would have to be Jason! While writing on Spirit Blood I fell madly in love with this character. He is not only handsome, but he's the perfect man too- strong, sympathetic, brave, caring, friendly, powerful, fatherly, loyal...the list could go on, but I feel to continue would make me look a little crazy. (If I don't already, that is. :-P)

Okay, now it's your turn. You can put your favorite scene in with your reason, but try not to put in spoilers unless you warn readers first of any potential spoilers. Have fun! We're waiting... :-D

Hi Ashley and Mike! It's Josh Cooper. I love your book. to answer your question my favorite character is Ben. He is cool, has a sense of humor, is a loyal companion, a true friend, and is just all around awesom!

A message from Michael:

For me to say I have a favorite would be very hard to do. I love all my characters, even the bad ones! They all have a piece of me and my history in them so it does make it somewhat personal to me, in one way or another.

If I was to pick only one I would have to choose Makaylen. Not a shocker to my wife to be sure. We used to have discussions on who was better between Jason and Makaylen while writing this book. In good fun...mostly.

Makaylen is my longest lived character in many stories I've done which never saw the light of day. This means he has grown with me as I've grown. Who knows what the future will bring for him still, prequels are pretty popular ;-).

Will it save him from death? No one is safe from me in all honesty. My co-author will disagree and the character may be resurrected anyway, but this is the fun of fantasy. :-P (You should have heard the fight we had, and are still having over Thessa! She won't rest until the woman comes back! I think I'd end up divorced if I tried to kill Jason.)

Now this question is for all character good and bad, so if you like a bad guy, don't feel bad (you won't get in trouble), pick them and tell us why.

To Mike,

You better believe we had our "discussions" (usually pretty heated) regarding your killing off of certain characters! :-D

You can't make me love someone and then kill them off. I know real life may work this way, but when I read a book or watch a movie I'm usually trying to escape a bit of reality. I'm sure I'm not alone there.

Let me just say for the record and for anyone else reading this- if Thessa isn't resurrected in someway then our argument will probably NEVER end! (heehee)

We'll see if she makes a surprise appearance in the 2nd book!! :-D
